Jason Kliwinski, AIA, LEED™AP Joins Spiezle Group, Inc. as Director of Sustainable Design

Trenton, NJ (May 14, 2007)—Jason Kliwinski, AIA, LEED AP has joined Spiezle Group, Inc. as Director of Sustainable Design. Mr. Kliwinski is a Registered Architect in the State of New Jersey and a LEED™- accredited professional. Drawing from his more than twelve years of experience in the practice of architecture and intimate knowledge of sustainable design principles, Jason is one of the preeminent professionals active in the field of environmentally responsible design.

Mr. Kliwinski has been extensively involved in the design and construction of the first LEED™-certifiable public schools in New Jersey as well as 8 other major LEED™ registered projects, including the Microsoft School of the Future (located in Philadelphia, PA), and the and Morris County School of Technology (Denville, NJ).  Mr. Kliwinski joins Spiezle Group, Inc. with the intent and understanding to further introduce and incorporate the principles of sustainable design and “green” building techniques throughout the office and the firm’s projects. With support from Scott R. Spiezle, AIA President & CEO, and other LEED™-accredited senior staff members, the firm will further embrace the integration of sustainable design basics into each and every project.

“Owners, architects, and facility managers can achieve healthier buildings – on time and within budget—through education and heightened awareness. An owner is usually quite happy when s/he can save materials, energy, and water along with ‘significant operating costs while maintaining their budget and schedule.’ Those bottom-line operating expenses account for over 50% of the life-cycle costs of a building,” according to Mr. Kliwinski.  “With sustainable design, the potential for liability related to ‘sick building’ syndrome is greatly reduced, while employee and/or student performance and attendance can be vastly improved.”

Mr. Kliwinski holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He continues to educate contractors, building owners, and professionals through presentations and conferences, regarding the cost-effective incorporation of environmentally responsible design and construction into everyday budgets. Jason is actively involved with the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and New Jersey Higher Education Partnership for Sustainability (NJHEPS), and serves as the Second Vice President and Chair of the Committee on the Environment for the New Jersey Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIANJ).
