Montessori Children’s House of Valley Forge Recognized with Historic Preservation Award

The Montessori Children’s House of Valley Forge was awarded the Non-Residential Historic Preservation Award from the Historic Architectural Review Board of Tredyffrin Township in Pennsylvania on July 19th.  This is a proud moment for this important project which has transformed these historic buildings into an educational campus rich with character.

In partnership with the United States Government and the National Park Service, the project was born from a conversion of a historic homestead within the grounds of Valley Forge National Park.  The ultimate adaptive reuse created an opportunity for productive renewal combined with a modern educational environment.  The project included:

Historically sensitive design and project approach
Existing structures date back to the revolutionary encampment
Integration of modern educational space within historic framework
Responsive to numerous agency reviews and requirements
Pre-kindergarten and Kindergarten educational center
Public space and administrative needs supported within historic barn
Historic house converted to library use & faculty residence
