Pennsbury School District in Lower Makefield, PA trusted Spiezle Architectural Group to design an addition and renovation for an adored historic building in need of renewal. Our design responded with a carefully developed aesthetic and LEED™ certification strategy that earned approval and was embraced by the community.
As the project nears completion, one of the key sustainable elements – the green roof – was installed at the end of last summer, as can be seen in the photograph. This is the first green roof installed as part of a Spiezle project. We all look forward to seeing the plants grow and be a fully functional green roof in the spring.
Other sustainable features include porous paving, rain garden, outdoor learning courtyard, daylighting and solar panels. The project will achieve LEED Silver certification within a traditional construction budget.
