Utilizing the greenhouse gas inventory which defined its 2007-2008 footprint, Spiezle will conduct energy and sustainability studies to prepare a Carbon Neutrality Action Plan to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions with the goal of becoming carbon neutral. Possible combinations of approaches and strategies to be incorporated in to a Carbon Neutrality Plan include:

Modifications to campus operations
Upgrades and expansion of existing energy technologies and energy generation systems
Implementation of new energy technologies
Energy efficient retrofits of existing buildings’ energy systems and envelopes (LEED EB)
Use of sustainable bio fuel in combustion equipment
Potential use of Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) to provide carbon offsets
