This project spanned over many years. The administration looked at the combing the police academy with the fire training academy. Later, a design was done for an emergency center to be incorporated into the training academy. Another option as the project evolved was taking over some of AT&T’s existing buildings to renovate. The end result was a 4 building complex that had a burn building which included simulators. They simulated commercial, residential and retail spaces, a 5 story training tower, a smoke building with confined space and an outdoor classroom. There were also outdoor burn pits and a driving course. In addition, the administration buildings housed offices, classrooms and all of the county hazmat and fire training and storage for emergency response hazmat. This building included bays for repair of trucks along with a workshop required by the administration.
