The new RWJUHH Primary Care Express includes 17 dual entry, exam rooms that have doors on the front and rear walls. This creates two distinct zones: one which is the patient/end user side or “front of house” and one which will serve as the back door for doctors and clinical staff. The benefit of utilizing this design strategy is that it cuts down on travel distances and helps to streamline staff and patient flows. It also offers the ability to create separate environments that can better serve each group by creating an enhanced patient-centric environment on one hand while offering a more efficient and productive environment on the other. A clean, modern environment was designed that optimizes high efficiency lighting and utilizes off-shade textures and colors. The result is a more contemporary and desirable patient experience that does not feel like a medical environment.
