As a burgeoning academic leader in the fields of architecture and sustainable design, Philadelphia University further strengthened the College of Architecture and Design through the creation of the Center for Sustainable Energy Efficiency and Design (SEED); a landmark project for graduate degree programs. Through adaptive re-use of an existing building, the planning, design and engineering of the facility created a built environment functioning as an interactive learning tool. Sustainable design elements were incorporated into the design to create high performance studio and lecture spaces, supported by adaptable gallery and presentation areas. This unique design/build delivered structure is LEED Gold certified.
