LED Lighting Pilot Program Shows Reduction & Savings In Energy Consumption
(Trenton, NJ) - Spiezle Architectural Group, Inc. announces the analysis of its LED Lighting Pilot Program at its Headquarters in Trenton, NJ.
SAG took the initiative to pursue LEED™ EB Silver Certification of its 1960’s 3-story 15,000 Sq. Ft. headquarters office building. A carbon neutrality study was completed in 2008 and as part of the continuing certification program LED task lighting was installed on the 2nd floor as a pilot program in an effort to reduce energy consumption while maintaining adequate lighting levels within the office environment.
After three (3) months of operations the results of the program are as follows:
Over 1.0 watt/SF reduction in energy use which is 60% lower than prior existing condition.
Office space now meets ASHRAE 90.1 Standard for lighting power density.
Meets LEED EB O&M EQ Credit 2.2 of Occupant Comfort & Occupant Controlled Lighting.
Besides the pursuit of LEED™ EB Silver Certification for its office building the firm made a commitment to have its entire technical staff LEED™ accredited professionals by the end of 2008. As of today 22 of the technical staff are LEED™ accredited professionals.
