Spiezle Headquarters LEED™ Certification Project

Spiezle Architectural Group, Inc. is currently pursuing LEED™ EB Silver Certification, in addition to completing a green house gas assessment for the renovations of our Headquarters Office in Trenton, New Jersey.

Project Description for the Office building renovation, LEED™ EB Silver Designed (registered with USGBC) The 15,000 sf 1960’s office building housing our main headquarters and 40 employees. SAG has committed to having all its technical staff LEED™ accredited by the end of 2008 with the LEED™ EB certification of our office building and green house gas assessment of our operations.

As we help our clients obtain LEED certification and provide green house gas assessment services, it is only fitting that our own operations and facilities incorporate major sustainable features, such as LED lighting, low-flow fixtures, daylighting, building envelope improvements, enhanced recycling program, photovoltaic panels, and motion sensors.

What is LEED™ EB?

The LEED™ for Existing Buildings Rating System helps building owners and operator’s measure operations, improvements and maintenance on a consistent scale, with the goal of maximizing operational efficiency while minimizing environmental impacts.

LEED™ for existing buildings addresses whole-building cleaning and maintenance issues (including chemical use), recycling programs, exterior maintenance programs, and systems upgrades. It can be applied both to existing buildings seeking LEED™ certification for the first time and to projects previously certified under LEED™ for new construction, schools, or core and shell.

Beginning July 1, 2008, all projects registering for LEED™ for existing buildings must do so under the LEED™ for existing buildings: operations and maintenance version which is replacing the prior LEED™ EB Version 2.0 rating system.
