What does certified mean?

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design or LEED™, is a voluntary rating system developed and third party certified by the US Green Building Council. Information on LEED™ and the USGBC can be found at http://www.usgbc.org.

LEED™ Integration, Documentation, and Certification Submittal:

  • Review designs at each stage (SD, DD, CD) and coordinate and conduct LEED™ integration meetings with team
  • Establish goals using the LEED™ rating system in sustainable site design, water conservation, energy and atmosphere conservation, materials and resource conservation, and indoor environmental quality
  • Establish responsibilities and track goals through each phase
  • Review Specifications and drawings at each phase for incorporation of appropriate information and requirements
  • Make recommendations to the design team for technologies and strategies to achieve LEED™ certification at no or little additional first cost
  • Track goals through construction process and prepare LEED™ submission/documentation
  • Submit and respond to USGBC inquiries as needed to ensure certification level goal is achieved
