Regional Achievement Academy Addition & Renovations | Monmouth-Ocean Educational Services Commission
Spiezle partnered with the Monmouth-Ocean Educational Services Commission (MOESC) on a major addition and renovation project to create an optimal learning environment that addresses the educational, behavioral, social, and emotional needs while accommodating growing enrollment across New Jersey. The existing Regional Achievement Academy was transformed with a two-story addition featuring a professional development center (MRA Learning Center) and classrooms on the first floor and administrative offices on the second floor.
where excellence grows
MOESC is a public, non-profit organization which provides educational programs and services to school districts and collaborates with other Commissions throughout the state of New Jersey. In order to expand on the learning center’s mission, Spiezle designed a two-story addition that added the necessary spaces needed to address the growing needs of the organization.
The first floor of the addition includes six Department of Education-compliant high school classrooms, a training center with advanced audio-visual system, and support spaces such as social services offices, a calm room, and a lobby. The second floor provides 11,000 SF of administrative offices for more than 40 staff members of various departments, including administration, business, building and grounds, special services, transportation, HR, homeless outreach, and IT. Additional features include a reception area with an outdoor balcony to promote a strong indoor-outdoor connection for the administrative staff, conference rooms, cubicles, a print/mail station, storage, ADA-compliant restrooms, a faculty breakroom with large windows, and an open corridor designed to maximize daylight and collaboration.
Renovations to the existing building reconfigured underutilized areas to add two middle school classrooms, a STEAM center and an E-Sports classroom, a small conference room, a faculty workroom, and an ADA-accessible shower room to support special education students’ needs. At The Shore Center new classrooms were created to expand programming. Together, these improvements enhance learning environments, support services, and professional development opportunities while providing modern, functional spaces for students and staff alike.
