St. Lucie Public Schools Breaks Ground on New K-8 School

The new 215,000-square-foot, six-building campus will serve 1,900 students and provide a modern, resilient learning environment.

Spiezle joined St. Lucie Public Schools on July 27, 2026, to celebrate the groundbreaking for the future Ft. Pierce K-8 School.

The 215,000-square-foot campus will serve approximately 1,800 students and bring together six buildings designed to support teaching, learning, recreation, and school community life. Planned amenities include state-of-the-art academic spaces, a gymnasium, an auditorium, and other facilities that will create a dynamic, future-ready environment for students and staff.

The project replaces aging schools in the area with a unified, modern K-8 campus built to serve St. Lucie County families for generations. During the ceremony, Spiezle team members presented St. Lucie Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Jon R. Prince with a commemorative gold shovel engraved with the school district logo, recognizing the milestone and the collaboration behind the project.

Spiezle’s longstanding work with St. Lucie Public Schools reflects the firm’s approach to evolving, adaptable K-8 and K-12 environments. In addition to academic and support spaces, the campus is planned with resilience in mind.

Spiezle is providing design services for the project in collaboration with construction management firm Wharton-Smith.
