Burlington County College Culinary Arts Facility Receives Design Excellence Award

Spiezle Architectural Group, Inc. has received a Citation of Excellence Award for outstanding educational facility design in the Fall of 2012 edition of LEARNING BY DESIGN, the premier biannual guide that showcases innovative school and university design adn construction projects. Recognized for the innovative design of the Burlington County College Culinary Arts Facility in Mount Holly, NJ, Spiezle Architectural Group is one of only seven firms to receive a Citation of Excellence Award in the Fall of 2012 design competition.

Spiezle Architectural Group designed a modern culinary school for Burlington County College, transforming a 200-year old bank building into a cutting-edge culinary arts learning environment. Through adaptive reuse efforts, Spiezle restored the building’s exterior to its original appearance while creating interior spaces to fulfill the hands-on needs of modern students in the hospitality and culinary arts disciplines.

The facility breathes new life into the community, according to the LEARNING BY DESIGN judges. The Culinary Arts Facility features effective teaching spaces and a strong connection to its urban setting.
